HORSE RADIO NETWORK TO BROADCAST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS DAILY FROM 2010 INTERNATIONAL EQUESTRIAN FESTIVAL
With the opening of the 2010 International Equestrian Festival just six months away, the Horse Radio Network, producers of the 2010 Radio Show and six other shows, announced that it has reached broadcast deals with more than 30 affiliates expanding their audience to 37 countries and announced plans to broadcast daily from the IEF as the Official Equestrian Radio Partner. The programming includes daily world championship competition results from the eight sporting events held at the Alltech 2010 World Equestrian Games, interviews with equestrian athletes, and fun-filled IEF coverage.
The International Equestrian Festival, held in the Lexington Convention Center from Sept. 25 through Oct. 10, is located in the official host city of the World Games. The Horse Radio Network will join Presenting Sponsor HRTV (Horse Racing Television) in providing exciting coverage of the event’s entertainment, education and tourism components.
The radio crew is led by the executive producer of the Horse Radio Network, Glenn the Geek, a pioneer of equestrian podcast entertainment with more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Glenn will be joined by British horsewoman and co-host of The 2010 Radio Show, Samantha Clark, at the IEF anchor location. Attendees of the IEF and the 2010 WEG are encouraged to gather for the show and participate in the coverage.
“I’ve been watching the IEF gain tremendous support from all aspects of the equestrian industry and it just made sense for us to do our shows onsite at the festival. It’s a perfect way for us to report on the world championships in the afternoons and be connected to our listeners and the fun in downtown Lexington.”
The 2010 Radio Show currently airs every Wednesday. The show covers the news about the IEF and the Games from all angles including preparations, the Kentucky Horse Park construction, the IEF events and celebrities, the local Lexington atmosphere and the riders and equine athletes that will be participating. The March 31 episode includes interviews with International Equestrian Festival superstars including singer/songwriter Templeton Thompson, known for her hit songs "Girls & Horses" and “Cowgirl Creed,” and History Channel celebrity Mark Peterson, famous for extreme trail riding adventures and his Breaking the Language Barrier techniques.
