JUSTIN BOOT COMPANY CELEBRATES VALUED EMPLOYEE’S 6OTH ANNIVERSARY
Justin Boot Company in December celebrated 60 years of employment for Elda “Eddie” Kelly.
Kelly began working for Justin Boots in 1949 in the brand’s Fort Worth plant making 60 cents per hour in the stitching department. She was promoted throughout her tenure to eventually become head designer in the Product Development department where she designed boots for such notable celebrities as Gene Autry and Nolan Ryan.
“In an industry where authenticity is key, we have employees contributing longer than most companies have existed,” said Randy Watson, president and CEO of Justin Brands Inc. “She tried to retire in 1991 but we just didn’t want to let all her expertise and knowledge go. We appreciate the value an employee with this kind of commitment and experience offers to our company and honor Eddie’s dedication to Justin.”
To commemorate the 60 years, Kelly was given a pin with six-point diamonds set in white gold one diamond for each decade.
Kelly currently works as the official archivist for Justin Boots and manages the many inquiries for information on the brand’s heritage.
