HYDE BAGS OPENS THE PURSE TO GIVE BACK: HANDCRAFTED ACCESSORIES OFFER STYLE WITH A CONSCIENCE
Some companies can be described as “more-than-profit.” That’s certainly the case with Hyde Bags, a company founded in 2007 by owner/designer Patricia Cimino. She began the enterprise after an encounter with impoverished children in Argentina. The company uses a portion of profits to donate books for children in poverty-stricken areas.
“It’s the mission that ‘s what keeps me wanting to do more. Knowing that I’ll be able to give back. It definitely fuels the business,” says Cimino.
Hyde Bags currently offers 10 different styles. They are each handmade by Argentinean craftsmen, and are constructed of genuine leather and cowhide. Cimino says the beauty of the bags is the variation of the hides; no two are alike, guaranteeing a unique accessory purchase for every customer.
Shown is the versatile Clutch Tote in brown and white cowhide with brown leather detail. It can be used as a tote or folded over as a clutch. Features include a fabric lining with a multifunction interior pocket and cell phone pocket. It is also available in black and white cowhide with black leather detail. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $245.
