ROCKY HOSTS FOURTH ANNUAL MARKET BASH
Maybe it was Rodney Atkins highlighting the entertainment. Maybe it was the unseasonably warm Colorado weather. Maybe it was because the evening honored the most unlikely of debutantes ... two new boot lines from a freshly re-branded Durango Boot.
Whatever the reason, the fourth annual Rocky Bash taking place during the January Western/English Apparel and Equipment Market at the Denver Merchandise Mart outshone those before it.
“We had more people in attendance, and they were clearly having a fabulous time,” said Chris Lorenzo, Western marketing manager for Rocky, “We heard nothing but gracious and complimentary feedback both about the party overall and the new [Durango] lines!”
The invitation-only party at the legendary Grizzly Rose honky-tonk was jammed with more than 1,100 guests. Partygoers enjoyed complimentary food and drinks while listening to opening act Amber Rhodes of Kentucky. Door prizes included an Xbox, iPods and portable DVD players as well as 100 pairs of boots for a lucky Rocky retailer. The culmination of the evening was Atkins’ dynamic performance: a nearly 90-minute set, including a highly encouraged encore, which he granted with his 2006 title release, “If You’re Goin’ Though Hell.”
The new lines, Flirt with Durango and Crush by Durango, are star players in the 2009 Durango Boot brand re-launch, which features a new logo, a new tagline, and new packaging. Collectively the boots in the two women’s lines focus on stylish, chic product that easily straddles the line between the barn floor and the dance floor.
