SHETLAND CONGRESS VETROLIN GROOMING AWARD WINNER TO RECEIVE A YEAR’S SUPPLY OF VETROLIN PRODUCTS

Carole Ann Ford will soon be receiving a year’s supply of Vetrolin brand grooming products from Vetrolin manufacturer Farnam. Judges at this year’s American Shetland Pony Congress, held in early August in Cloverdale, Ind., were asked to choose the Shetland pony that outshined all the rest. The decision of the three judges was unanimous and Ford’s Wauk-A-Way Daphne was declared the winner of the 2008 Vetrolin Grooming Award.

Sharon Housley exhibited Wauk-A-Way Daphne in the Classic Mare and Foal of Current Year class. That meant extra difficulty for Wauk-A-Way Daphne’s grooms because she and the young foal by her side both had to look immaculate to win the Vetrolin award. Housley was thrilled to win the class but winning the Vetrolin Grooming Award was an honor she never anticipated.

Farnam’s Platform Feed division has been a strong supporter of the American Shetland Pony Club since they launched their Platform Miniature Horse and Pony Feed in 2006. Marketing director for the ASPC, Johnny Robb said, “The Vetrolin Grooming Award is just another example of Farnam’s commitment to our small equines.”

Two more Vetrolin Grooming Award winners will be chosen at the American Miniature horse Registry National Championships to be held in Tulsa, Okla., Sept. 4-13. “Because the AMHR National show is so large, with more than 5,000 entries, Farnam generously opted to give two Vetrolin Grooming Awards,” explained Robb, “one for A-size miniature horses, 34 inches and under and one for B-size miniatures, 38 inches and under.”
