To memorialize the event of Montana Silversmiths 35th anniversary, an all-expense-paid trip “Meet me in Montana” was awarded to a Montana Silversmiths retailer. This tribute went to Gold Mountain Mining Company commemorating the celebration.
Gold Mountain Mining Company owner Marv Baskin is third generation in the jewelry business. He and his wife began their business in the '70s with the first of their many unique jewelry and gift stores, Accessories Unlimited, in the San Francisco Bay Area. In the '80s they took the family north to Oregon, where they created The Baskin Gold Company, the predecessor of today's Gold Mountain Mining Company in Arizona.
Marv and his son, Greg, traveled to Montana Silversmiths in August for their first tour of South Central Montana and Montana Silversmiths manufacturing facilities. Marv said he was truly amazed by the tour, “the amount of detail and the intricate painting in all the products was fascinating.” He added that he was fascinated by how much detail is required in the creation of Montana Silversmiths jewelry and buckles.
Greg Baskin, Gold Mountain Mining Company’s Purchasing Manager said their customer’s are primarily Western people who are associated with horses. Greg is credited for expanding the family business by creating the Gold Mountain Mining Web site in 2001.
Gold Mountain Mining Company carries Montana Silversmiths jewelry and lifestyle products. Their store is located in an outlet mall in the Phoenix area.
The “Meet Me in Montana” customer appreciation tribute was an all-expense-paid trip which included airfare for two, four days’ and three nights’ lodging, and a rental car along with a personalized tour of Montana Silversmiths plant overlooking the Yellowstone River on the southern edge of Columbus, Mont.
“I don’t think that there’s anything that can be more important or that we value any more than the dealer relationships that we have,” said Dennis Potzman, CEO of Group Montana Inc. and President of Montana Silversmiths. “We like to call it, ‘Partners in the Western Lifestyle’ and it’s something that we really truly believe in. Montana Silversmiths continually strives to build on these relationships by developing products and categories that best serve our customers.”
