ARIAT TEAM MEMBERS BEEZIE MADDEN, WILL SIMPSON AND GINA MILES HEAD TO THE 2008 OLYMPIC GAMES

Ariat International Inc. announced July 16 that the U.S. Olympic Committee has approved Ariat team members Beezie Madden and Will Simpson for the U.S. Olympic Team in Show Jumping and Gina Miles for the U.S. Olympic Team in eventing. All three athletes are heading to Hong Kong to represent the United States in The 2008 Games Aug. 9 -21.

Madden, the No. 1 ranked show jumper in the U.S. and No. 6 in the world, will compete with Authentic, a 13-year-old Dutch warmblood gelding she describes as her "once-in-a-lifetime horse." Simpson will team up with Carlsson vom Dach, a 12-year-old Holsteiner gelding, and Miles will be riding her 14-year-old Irish sport horse, McKinlaigh.

"Ariat is extremely proud of the outstanding performance of Beezie, Will and Gina during the 2008 Olympic teams selection trials," said Beth Cross, president and CEO of Ariat International. "We are thrilled that these three remarkable athletes will be representing the United States in the Olympics Games this summer. Their place on the U.S. teams is a testament to their hard work, dedication and athletic skill."

This will be Simpson's and Miles' first time competing in the Olympic Games. Madden is a veteran of the Olympic Games, having competed in 2004 in Athens where her double clear rounds helped the U.S. win team gold.
