AETA ENCOURAGES MEMBER PARTICIPATION; NOMINATIONS EXTENDEDTO AUG. 3

In the spirit of reaching out to as many people as possible, the deadline for AETA members to submit their nominations for the 2009 American Equestrian Trade Association Board of Directors has been extended until Aug. 3. The hope is that waiting until the Trade Fair, seeing the quality of participants, experiencing the energy around the association, members will “see” and step forward.

Members, many of whom have joined recently to take full advantage of the Golden Ticket and AETA Bucks programs, have expressed the need for more time to consider what is at stake before identifying the best people to lead the association. The association recognize that members would appreciate the opportunity to speak with each other in person during the Trade Fair about something as important as selecting the association’s leadership.

Nominations may be submitted at the Trade Fair by noon, Aug. 3rd; if submitted by e-mail to the AETA office (equestriantrade@verizon.net), they must be submitted by Aug. 1. The ballot will be available on the morning of Aug. 4 at the Trade Fair and mailed to members after the Trade Fair. After the Trade Fair, members may cast their votes until Sept. 5 by submitting their ballots by mail or fax to the AETA office.

Nomination materials will be available and distributed at the Trade Fair as well as membership information for those who would like to join at the show and become eligible to nominate, be nominated and vote. The hope is that the members who are nominated and elected will be reflective of the association’s industry mix: manufacturers/distributors and retailers of varying size, representing different sectors and parts of the country (and world).
